Application for Membership
Thank you for your inquiry on the Tidewater Electrical Industry's Electrical Apprenticeship Program. As an apprentice, you will be working side by side with a Journeyman Wireman. You will "earn while you learn" by recieving on the job training. Apprentices also attend classes two nights a week for five years. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will recieve your Virginia state journeyman electrician licence. If you do not have all of the qualifications for the apprenticeship program, you can still be placed to work as a Construction Wireman. CW's work side by side with Journeymen as well as apprentices and Construction Electricians. You gain knowledge and skills of the trade, and can advance through on the job training. Construction Wiremen, however, can not work on any federal or state funded job.
